The Product Engineer/Manager will work with engineering and sales team to help define and deliver new sensor products for our markets.

Job Description

  • Determines customers’ needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information.
  • Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements, appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes.
  • Assesses market competition by comparing the company’s product to competitors’ products.
  • Provides source data for product line communications by defining product marketing communication objectives.
  • Obtains product market share by working with sales team to develop product sales strategies.
  • Assesses product market data by calling on customers with field salespeople and evaluating sales call results.
  • Provides information for management by preparing short-term and long-term product sales forecasts and special reports and analyses, answering questions and requests.
  • Facilitates inventory turnover and product availability by reviewing and adjusting inventory levels and production schedules.
  • Brings new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with engineering and manufacturing.
  • Introduces and markets new products by developing time-integrated plans with sales, advertising, and production.
  • Participate on determining product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing production and sales costs; anticipating volume; costing special and customized orders.
  • Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees, then following up on work results.
  • Help develop a product management staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Develop product documentation (BOM, mechanical and electronic drawings, testing procedures and acceptance criteria, etc..) in association with developing engineering teams.
  • Maintains product documentation and work with production team to develop packages for manufacturing of products including acceptance test criteria and procedures.
  • Team technical lead resource for New Product development projects. Key tasks include resolving issues related to package design and performance while working to maximize achieving project objectives.
  • Communicate project related issues promptly to the Engineering Manager and Project Manager
  • Lead projects in accordance with Project Management Standard Operating Procedures, including:
  • Coordinate Internal product design reviews to make sure it satisfies product requirements and feature set.
  • Prioritize product feature backlog requests and drive consensus of stakeholders.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Required Skills

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical engineering, prefer MS degree (or equivalent program)
  • 3 to 10 year of experience as a product engineer or product manager for the wireless telecommunication market or C4ISR government DoD market.
  • Agile development experience
  • Product development and Launch experience
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of wireless communication networks with different technologies (LTE/5G/IOT)
